Doctoral Study So Far
For those of you who might be interested, my doctoral studies are going well so far. I feel I've made a positive impression on my professors, and I'm learning a lot, though this newly acquired knowledge feels jumbled and disconnected at this point. I spoke to a professor about that feeling of disconnectedness, and he assured me that it was natural and expected, and that with persistence I would eventually get a "handle" on things. I hope so. I'm impatient by nature, and I want to figure it all out right now, but it just isn't feasible. I must continue plodding along until it comes into focus.
What I do know: My interests, as general as they are, are literacy and technology, narrative inquiry, pedagogical theory and pedagogical practice and how the two relate (or don't relate). The tricky part is figuring out which of those interests will lead to my qualifying paper, and then to my dissertation. It is wide-open at this point.
As part of my Technology and Literacy course, I've created a web page on the college's server, which I'm happy to link here. There you will find some of the reflections I've written in response to reading in that course. Enjoy.
